"Gonyosoma hodgsoni" is a species of snake found in parts of Asia around the Himalayas.

Description

Rostral as deep as broad, visible from above; suture between the internasals much shorter than that between the prefrontals; frontal as long as its distance from the end of the snout or a little shorter, shorter than the parietals; loreal longer than deep, often united with the prefrontal; one large preocular (a small sub-ocular below the pre-ocular rarely present); two postoculars; temporals 2+2 or 2+3; normally 8 upper labials, fourth and fifth entering the eye; 5 lower labials in contact with the anterior chin-shields, which are as long as the posterior or a little longer. Scales in 23 rows, feebly keeled on the posterior part of the body, Ventrals 233-246; anal divided; subcaudals 79-90. Brownish olive above, most of the scales black-edged: young with blackish cross bands; lower parts yellowish, the outer part of the margin of each ventral shield blackish.
