Greek Secondary School of London

The Greek Secondary School of London is a co-ed independent school for ages 13 through 18 located in the north London suburb of Wood Green. It was established in 1983 by the Greek embassy and provides a traditional Greek education leading to the Greek high school diploma (Apolytirio Lykeiou). In 2005, the school had 42 students enrolled age 15 and older, according to the Guardian. [http://education.guardian.co.uk/secondaries/story/0,12389,1388015,00.html]

It was moved to the church of Panagia in Wood Green from the original location in Acton in around the mid-1990's. Then it moved to its current location in Bounds Green (just across the road). Its educational system follows the Greek curriculum, offering the Apolytirion of Gymnasion (eq. to junior high or a number of GCSE's) and the Apolytirion of Lykeion (eq. to senior high or a number of A-Levels). All the classes are taught in Greek except for English and other language courses which are offered from time to time.It is a follow-on school to the Greek Primary School of London, which is still located in the old location of 3 Pierrepoint Road, West Acton.
