anniversaries=The 5th Connecticut Regiment was raised onApril 27 ,1775 atDanbury, Connecticut under the command ofDavid Waterbury . The regiment would see action at the Invasion of Canada. After which the regiment was disbanded onDecember 20 1775 and reformed onSeptember 16 ,1776 to fight in theBattle of Brandywine ,Battle of Germantown and theBattle of Monmouth . The regiment was merged along with the 7th Conn. into the 2nd Conn. onJanuary 1 ,1781 . The regiment was fourloughedJune 15 ,1783 atWest Point, New York and disbanded onNovember 15 ,1783 .References
