St Patrick's College, Ballarat .He served in the R.A.A.F. from 1942 to 1945.
He played District Cricket firstly for the
Melbourne Cricket Club and, later in his career, theSt Kilda Cricket Club . He played Sheffield Shield cricket for Victoria andTest cricket for Australia.At the time of his death he was a high-level civil servant in the Age and Invalid Pension division of the Victorian Office of the Commonwealth Department of Social Security.
He is a member of the Ballarat Sports Museum's Hall of Fame.
