*Ajaeng (Korea) The yazheng (simplified: ; traditional: ;pinyin : yàzhēng; also spelled ya zheng or ya cheng) is a Chinesestring instrument . It is a longzither similar to theguzheng but bowed by scraping with asorghum stem dusted with resin, abamboo stick, or a piece offorsythia wood. The instrument was popular in theTang Dynasty , but is today little used except in the folk music of some parts of northern China, where it is called "yaqin" (simplified: ; traditional: ).The Korean "
ajaeng " (hangul: 아쟁; hanja: ) is derived from the "yazheng".In 2002, the
People's Republic of China released apostage stamp featuring the instrument.The "
