During his tenure with NGR, Pat was voted 'Best Acoustic Guitarist' five years in a row by FRETS magazine's National Readers Poll. For winning five years in a row, Pat was inducted into FRETS 'Gallery Of Greats' alongsideDoc Watson ,Tony Rice andChet Atkins .Pat has also been a session guitarist on over 350 CD projects, including 26 Gold or Platinum records with a wide array of top artists. Included in Pat's studio work are several CMA and
Grammy award-winning projects, the latest beingRandy Travis ' "Rise and Shine" album, andLee Anne Womack 's "I Hope You Dance". In addition, Pat wrote and performed onGarth Brooks ' hit single "Do What You Gotta Do".Pat is a featured artist on the Nashville Acoustic Sessions CD project, with Raul Malo, Rob Ickes, and Dave Pomeroy on CMH Records. The record ended up on many critics' “best of the year” lists and achieved Top-10 status on the Americana radio chart. Pat is also a featured player on The Greencards much acclaimed CDs, Movin' On and Weather and Water, released on DualTone Records. The Greencards invited Pat to perform with them as they opened the Bob Dylan / Willie Nelson tour this past summer.
More recently, Pat has added the role of producer to his resume by producing up and coming acts like Cadillac Sky, Tim May, David Bevins, Alan Thornhill, Joe Nolan, Tyler Flowers, and Candace Corrigan.
In 2004, Flynn released his first solo CD project, entitled 'reQuest'. Appearing with Pat on this project are
Béla Fleck ,John Cowan ,Rob Ickes ,Stuart Duncan ,Jim Hoke ,Buddy Greene , and others.In 2007, he released his second CD, 'reVision'. Both CDs are distributed by
Thirty Tigers (formerly Sony/Emergent).In recent years, Flynn has received over stories in Flatpicking Guitar and Bluegrass Now magazines,a and he was chosen as Tom T Hall's musical director and guitarist for Hall’s recent “Artist In Residence” month at The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, a retrospective of Tom T Hall's incredible musical career.
He has also performed at: MerleFest Americana Music Celebration, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Grass, Walnut Valley Festival (Winfield), Rocky Mountain Folk Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, as well as a slot at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass event. Flynn’s signature line-up of “Pat Flynn & Friends” featured some of his best friends and musicians he most admires: John Cowan, Tim O'Brien, Darrell Scott, Stuart Duncan, Buddy Greene, Michael Card, Charlie McCoy and Danny Wheetman, and many others.
