Isaak Pomeranchuk

Isaak Yakovlevich Pomeranchuk (Warsaw, May 20, 1913 - December 14, 1966) was a Polish-born Soviet physicist, who was the founder and first head of the theory division at ITEP. The particle pomeron is named in his honor.
