Smitty (comic strip)

Smitty (comic strip)

"Smitty" was a newspaper comic strip created by Walter Berndt that ran from 1922 to 1973. Berndt won the Reuben Award for 1969 for his work on this strip. The strip featured a teen character (who eventually aged to young adulthood) named Smitty, and his young brother Herby. For a time, "Herby" was run as a topper to the strip.
