Montreal ,Canada ) is anAsian American artist/designer best known for his work in thecomic book industry and entertainment design. He started drawing comics professionally in 1992 while attendingPratt Institute inBrooklyn ,New York on a full scholarship for architecture. Within his first year, he was voted onto the Wizard Magazine Top Ten Artists list for his work on TheSecond Life of Dr. Mirage forValiant Comics , and was nominated for theRuss Manning Award for Best Newcomer. After four years at Valiant, Bernard went onto illustrate books forMarvel Comics andDC Comics , includingX-Men ,New Mutants , Cable, Deadpool andSuperman Plus . Most recently in the spring of 2008, he illustrated a two-issue arc ofWonder Woman for DC Comics, written byGail Simone .From 1997 to 2001, Chang was a "blue sky" concept designer for
Walt Disney Imagineering . His projects included:Pirates of the Caribbean : Battle for Buccaneer Gold (DisneyQuest ); 100 Years of Magic Celebration (Disney-MGM Studios); Animation Pavilion (Disney's California Adventure Park ); and the Millennium Village (Epcot ) - all of which won theThemed Entertainment Association 's THEA Award for Best New Attractions. Since, he has continued to work on many projects, including creative charettes for theValley Forge Museum , theFort Worth Museum of Science and History , and theSan Pedro Waterfront Redevelopment Project.In March 2005,
Scholastic Press andBlue Sky Press published , with text by Dawn Barnes and illustrations by Chang. This was the children's book industry's first ever hybridchapter book andgraphic novel . There have been two additional books under the series: The Black Belt Club #2: Nightmare on the Mountain of Fear (2006); and The Black Belt Club #3: Beware of the Haunted Eye (2007).Chang's last three mainstream publishing projects have hit the
New York Times Best Seller list . In December 2007, he illustrated a four-paged chapter, as well as the cover to the British versions, ofNeil Strauss 'The Rules of the Game , the followup book to the Strauss' , which debuted in 2005. Chang provided all the interior artwork for the original as well as the illustrated cover to the European versions. In 2004, he illustrated three chapters as well as various illustrations inJenna Jameson 's autobiography, .
