Juan F. Vasquez

Juan F. Vasquez (born Texas, 1948) is a judge of the United States Tax Court.

Vasquez attended Fox Tech High School and San Antonio Junior College, where he studied Data Processing; he received of B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972. After working for two years as an accountant, he attended one year of law school at the State University of New York in Buffalo, but earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1977, followed by an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School in 1978.

After a stint as trial attorney for the Internal Revenue Service, Vasquez became a partner in the law firm of Leighton, Hood and Vasquez from 1982-87, and had a private practice as a tax lawyer in San Antonio from 1987-1995. He was appointed by President Bill Clinton as Judge, United States Tax Court, on May 1, 1995, for a term ending April 30, 2010.
