The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen

"The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen" is a fictional story which was written by the English author J. R. R. Tolkien. It can be found in Appendix A of Tolkien's most famous book, "The Lord of the Rings". It takes place in the Third Age of the author's fictional world, Middle-earth. The tale tells the story of the love of the mortal Man Aragorn and the immortal Elf-maiden Arwen.

In Tolkien's fictional world, the tale was written by Faramir's grandson Barahir after Aragorn's death. An abbreviated version of the tale was included in the copy of The Thain's Book made by Findegil in ME-date|FA|172.

The tale tells of Aragorn's first meeting with Arwen at Rivendell and of their later meeting in Lothlórien, where Arwen chose a mortal life and pledged her love to Aragorn. It also tells of Aragorn's death in ME-date|FA|120 and of Arwen's death a year later. The short version of The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen can be found in Appendix A of "The Lord of the Rings".
