Prabda Yoon (born in
1973 inBangkok ) is a Thaiwriter ,novelist ,artist ,graphic designer ,magazine editor andscreenwriter . He is the son ofNation Multimedia Group executive and editorSuthichai Yoon .Prabda graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art in
New York City in1997 . He worked as agraphic designer briefly inManhattan before returning to Thailand for his required military service.After the service, he started to write short stories and columns for various magazines. Prabda has since published collections of short stories, essays and novels. His
screenplay s include "Last Life in the Universe ", a 2003 film by directorPen-Ek Ratanaruang , as well as 2006's "Invisible Waves ", also directed by Pen-Ek.In 2002, at the age of 29, he won the
S.E.A. Write Award for his collection of short stories, "Probability".In 2004 he was commissioned by Thailand's Office of Art and Culture to write a piece on the 2004 tsunami, titled "Where We Feel: A Tsunami Memoir by An Outsider".
Prabda started his own alternative publishing house, Typhoon Books, in 2004. He lives and works in Bangkok.
