February 3 ,1979 ) is an Englishcricket er. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He was born inSutton in Ashfield .Franks has only won one cap for England, in 2000 at Trent Bridge, but he missed the 2001 and 2002 campaigns with a recurring knee injury. Franks has previously been the captain of the under-19s, and was the vice-captain of the team with whom he won the Under-19s World Cup in 1998.
More recently, he has been kept out of the 2005 campaign, but on the times he has been able to play, has impressed with the bat, making an unbeaten century and coming second in the batting averages for the season.
Paul Franks also plays for Farnsfield CC when he is not on county duty.
