Terrance Simien is a U.S.
zydeco musician, accordionist and song writer. He was born onSeptember 3 ,1965 and spent his early life inMallet, Louisiana . As a teenager, Simien learned to play theaccordion and formed his own band in 1982. In 1984, he gained attention ofPaul Simon during a performance at the New Orleans World's Fair. Two years later, in 1986, he collaborated with Simon on the release of a single based onClifton Chenier 's hit song "You Used to Call Me". Terrance and his band, the Mallet Playboys, reached the silver screen in 1987 when they appeared as a zydeco band in the movie "The Big Easy ". He is considered to be one of the most innovative and prolific zydeco music performers of modern times.Discography
