Tyresö Palace ("Tyresö slott") is a
palace from the 17th century in Tyresö,Sweden , about 25 km south-east of centralStockholm .The construction of the palace began in 1620s by the
riksdrots Gabriel Oxenstierna . The palace was completed in 1636. He also constructed the nearbyTyresö Church , which was inaugurated with his own burial in 1641.The palace was inherited by
Maria Sofia de la Gardie in 1648, who constructed many small industries in its vicinity.During 1770s the palace was modernized and the first
English garden in Sweden was created, which still exists today.Marquis
Claes Lagergren purchased Tyresö Palace in 1892 and rebuilt large parts of it in a national romantic style. The marquis died in 1930 and in his will handed over Tyresö Palace over to theNordic Museum .External links
