Furus is a small village in the
Ratnagiri district ofIndia . Furus gets its name from the Persians who came here to trade in horses. The main language spoken here is Konkani.Location
It is positioned on the State Highway 47 sandwiched between
Khed andDapoli . The nearest Railway Station is at Khed -- 12 km away. It is situated alongside the banks of an anonymous petite tributary and blocked on all sides by hummocks. Furus has marvelous location and superior weather condition in Furus no apprehension for deluge or hurricane. It rains in plethora during monsoon thats the water for year long. Road transportation is available around the clock. There are many bus service available from between Khed and Dapoli. Rickshaw and private cars are also available. It takes approximately half an hour by bus to Khed.

All live in Communal harmony.
Educational facilities
Furus was one of the first township in the area to have a high school. Education is offered in Marathi, Urdu and English medium.
