Edson Cholbi Nascimento

Edson Cholbi Nascimento

Edson Cholbi Nascimento, usually known simply as Edinho (born on August 27, 1970 in Santos, São Paulo state), is a former Brazilian football (soccer) goalkeeper. He is the son of football legend Pelé.

He played for four clubs, Santos, Portuguesa Santista, São Caetano and Ponte Preta before retiring from professional football in 1999, at the age of 29.

His greatest achievement was playing in the Santos side that finished runner-up in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1995.

Since retiring from football, he had numerous legal troubles. In the early 1990s, Edinho was convicted to six years in jail due to his involvement in a street race in Santos that ended with one death. That conviction, however, later was annulled. On July, 2005, he was absolved of this crime pt icon [http://br.news.yahoo.com/050715/5/vqc8.html Yahoo! On June 6, 2005, Edinho, along with 50 other people, was arrested in a police operation to dismantle a gang of drug-dealers, after an 8-month investigation in Santos city.
