Steve Physioc (born December 28, 1954,
Summit, New Jersey ) is a sports broadcaster. His most significant current assignment is that of the play-by-play announcer for the local telecasts ofLos Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball games. He also announces the pre-game for 2K Sports Major League Baseball. During the baseball offseason, Physioc broadcasts other sporting events, primarily college basketball games (primarily in theWest Coast Conference ), on theESPNU network. On January 7, 2006, Physioc made a guest appearance as a substitute play-by- play announcer for theLos Angeles Lakers , taking the place ofJoel Meyers for one game because Meyers was on assignment. In addition, Physioc acts as one ofAngel Stadium 's staff announcers for non-Angel games.Physioc began his major league play-by-play announcing career in 1983, broadcasting
Cincinnati Bengals football andCincinnati Reds baseball games, a position he held until1987 while sports anchor atWLWT . He then served as theSan Francisco Giants announcer forKTVU-TV from 1987-1988, followed by work forESPN (1989-1995), announcing Major League Baseball, college basketball, baseball and Big Ten football. In1995 , he announcedSan Diego Padres games and PAC-10 football games for Fox Sports West. Physioc's previous experience also includes radio play-by-play for the NBA'sGolden State Warriors (1989 -1990 ), television play-by-play for Warriors games (1990-1991) and theVancouver Grizzlies during their inaugural season (1995-1996) in the NBA.Physioc graduated from
Kansas State University in1977 , and began his announcing career as the radio voice of Kansas State football and basketball (1979-1982).Physioc was also a Sports Anchor on WIBW-TV in Topeka, KS during the late 70's-early 80's.
He is married to Stacey Physioc and has two children.
