Tropical Storm Carol

Tropical Storm Carol

The name Carol was used for three tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean.

*1953's Hurricane Carol: Category 4 hurricane that struck Canada as a minimal hurricane
*1954's Hurricane Carol: Struck Long Island as a Category 2; heavy damage.
*1965's Hurricane Carol:a long-lived Category 2 storm that never approached land

After formal hurricane lists were introduced, the name was retired because of the 1954 storm.

Carol was also used for one tropical cyclone in the Western Pacific:

*1947's Typhoon Carol
