"Wake Up" is the second single from The Living End's fourth album, "State of Emergency". It was released on February 18, 2006 in Australia. The song was both popular on Australian and New Zealand radio stations. It also peaked at 5 in the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. The song was also used on the 40 Hour Famine DVD for 2006.
Note that the lyrics and the fact that they use children singing in the song bears a striking resemblance to "Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2" by Pink Floyd off the album The Wall
Wake Up was featured on the Triple J Hottest 100 for 2006, reaching #53. This kept safe the Living End's record of featuring in every Hottest 100 countdown since 1997. However, there was no song by The Living End in the Hottest 100 for 2007, although their cover of the Cold Chisel song "Rising Sun" was in the list of songs that listeners could vote for.
Wake Up was released in the UK as a download single on July 30 2007.
