John Humphreys (economist)

John Humphreys (born 22 October 1978) is an Australian economist, academic tutor (University of Queensland), and Adjunct Scholar of the Centre for Independent Studies.

Education

Humphreys graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999 with the degree of Bachelor of Economics (Honours).

Public profile

He was a founding member of the Liberal Democratic Party (now the Liberty and Democracy Party) and the Australian Libertarian Society [http://www.libertarian.org.au] and is a significant personality in the Australian libertarian community.

Humphreys was a lecturer at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's University in Cambodia during 2006, and is a Director of the Human Capital Project, a non-profit organisation that invests in the university education of poor Cambodian students.
