Armona Union School District

Armona Union School District is a school district which serves Armona, California and outlying rural areas. Armona is a census-designated place consisting of 3,239 people in the 2000 Census, with approximately 35.4% of the population under the age of 18.

The District is headed by Superintendent Steve Bogan [http://www.auesd.com/default.asp] and the elected School Board. Robert Ford is the board president for the 2007-2008 school year. The District operates three schools: Armona Elementary, Parkview Middle School and Crossroads Charter Academy.

Armona Elementary

Armona Elementary School was founded in 1952 and serves the district's students from Kindergarten to Fourth Grade. It is currently headed by Principal Randy Howard and Assistant Principal Xavier Pina [http://www.auesd.com/elementary.asp] . The school has a faculty of approximately 30 full and part time teachers [http://www.auesd.com/includes/2005-06SARC.htm}] .

Parkview Middle

Parkview Middle School serves the district's students from Fifth Grade to Eighth Grade. It is currently headed by Principal Lance Clement and Vice Principal Shawn Beck [http://www.auesd.com/parkview.asp] . The school has a faculty of approximately 20 full and part time teachers [http://www.auesd.com/includes/2005-06PVARC.htm] . After eighth grade, students in the district attend Hanford West High School [http://www.hjuhsd.k12.ca.us/hwhs/welcome.htm] for Ninth Grade through Twelfth Grade.

Crossroads Charter Academy

Crossroads Charter Academy was founded in 2003 and is currently headed by Principal Laurie Blue. It has a staff of two full time teachers and 28 part time teachers. The school is a Virtual Independent Study program serving Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade. It has four satellite campuses within Kings County (Hanford, Armona, Lemoore and at Delta View School campus). As of 2007 it has three hundred students. [http://www.crossroads-academy.com/]
