Clive Byers is a British bird artist.
His illustrations have appeared in a number of well-known and popular bird identification guides, including Birds of the Western Palearctic and the Buntings and Sparrows volume of the Helm Identification Guides series.
His illustrations have an unusual style, distinct from most of his contemporaries, in which birds are invariably depicted accurately in terms of technical detail, but are also often shown with somewhat cartoon-like facial expressions.
Clive lives in Norwich, England, and can often be found at Le Chateau on Unthank Road, regaling audiences with tales of his ornithological adventures.[citation needed]
In 1987 Clive played the role of 'Transvestite' in the HBO made-for-TV film Lion of Africa.[1] Speaking recently of his involvement in the film, Clive has claimed that he only did it for the money.[citation needed]
