Boxercise

Boxercise (sometimes known as "boxacise") is a sport based on the exercises that boxers use to keep fit, but does not involve actually hitting anyone (or being hit). Boxercise combines music and boxing moves. It is therefore a relatively safe activity for all sorts of people. The sport offers a way for people with little interest in contact boxing to benefit from the fitness that the sport can bring. it covers most of the body movement from aerobic to anaerobic but it focus on the upper body than the lower body. Boxercise is effectively improves stamina and develops hand eye coordination skill.

Boxercise first started in U.K in 1992 and there are now thousands of boxercise classes in sports-centres all over the world.

Boxercise classes can be very varied, both in content and target group. Some are heavily influenced by traditional boxing exercises, some are based around kick-boxing, while others take the form of circuit training. The type of exercises performed often depends on the equipment available (e.g. the availability of punch-bags) or the background of the instructor. A typical class may involve shadow boxing, skipping, hitting pads, kicking punch-bags, press-ups, shuttle-runs, sit-ups etc. Boxercise provides a full body workout from cutting fat to improve the level of fitness.

Instruction manuals and videos for boxercise are also available for those who wish to train at home. Boxercise has became popular for men and women so there are a lot of fitness locations provide boxercise in all over U.S. A typical boxercise class usually lasts for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Training Boxercise is really good for boxing, tennis, rowing, baseball and all kind of sport that require a good upper body streghth. Boxercise is also well known for weight loss.
