Carolyn Lilipaly

Carolyn Lilipaly (born July 22 1969) is a Dutch news anchor and actress.

Carolijn Lilipaly was born in Middelburg. Her father is former Dutch Labour Party parliament member John Lilipaly. Her mother is Indonesian, from the Maluku Islands. As a student she became accepted as an announcer for MTV. At this time she adopted the name Carolyn so it would be easier pronounced by English speakers. Later on she worked as a presenter for CNBC Europe, Net 5 and Canal Plus.

She has a daughter named Josephine, born in 1993. On December 2, 1998, Carolyn Lilipaly secretly married Koen Wauters, singer of the Flemish pop band Clouseau. They divorced February 6, 2002.

Carolyn Lilipaly was a news anchor for the Dutch news program NOS Journaal from January 2003 through February 2004. High points in her short time at NOS included the presentation of a special Journal about the arrest of Saddam Hussein. Editor in chief Hans Laroes praised her on the website of the Journal for her improvisational talent. Later it appeared the two had a relationship. In the beginning of 2004 they left the Journal and went to work for Omroep Zeeland television, where she presents the news.
