Kyungbang

Kyungbang (Korean:경방, Chinese:京紡, Japaneseキョンバン/きょんはん・けいぼう) is a Korean chemical and textile company established in 1919, with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Its current CEO and chairman is Kak Choong Kim.

The company was founded by Kim Sung-Ju (1891-1955) on October 5 1919, during the Japanese Imperial Period, to assist in achieving national independence by helping create economic self-sufficiency for Korea. Kim established it under the name Gyeongseong Textile Corporation (경성방직주식회사, 京城紡織株式會社). The company was incorporated under its current name on July 14, 1970.

The company has operations in Yeongdeungpo-gu Seoul, Yongin Gyeonggi-do, Gwangju, Banwol Complex Ansan Gyeonggi-do of 4 plants. It also operates an overseas branch in Osaka, Japan.
