Spendrups Bryggeri AB, is a Swedish brewery and a brand name. The head office is located in Vårby, Huddinge. Spendrups have breweries in Grängesberg, Vårby and Visby (the experimental Gotlands Bryggeri).
Spendrups had the license rights to Pepsi-Cola in Sweden 1989-2000. When the license was taken over by Pripps (who had lost the rights to Coca-Cola) in 2000 Spendrups instead acquired the rights to the British Virgin Cola, but Virgin Cola never established itself on the market and vanished after a short time. Spendrups is also one of the main bottlers of Julmust, a soda made with a syrup produced by Roberts AB but bottled by various other companies under their own brand names.
History
The brewery was started as Grängesbergs Bryggeri in 1923. The company grew by acquiring Mariestads bryggeri (in 1967), Risingsbo Ångbryggeri (in 1980) and AB Wårby Bryggerier (in 1989). The name became Spendrups Bryggeri in 1983.
