Anthony Holland (Composer)

Anthony Holland, Ph.D., is the Associate Professor of Music at Skidmore College, conductor of the Skidmore College Orchestra and Director of the electronic music program. He is well-known as a contemporary American composer and music technology proferssor. He has had several world premiere recordings of his works most recently including his Concerto for Organ and Orchestra.

Early Education

Holland attended the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Music degree in 1978. His concentrations included composition and vocal performance.

Holland received his Masters degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music and Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1982. Since 1982, Holland has been an Associate Professor of Music at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Compositions

Anthony Holland has composed numerous works in a unique and modern style. His music is colorful, well instrumented and often very witty in character.
