- Jean-Guy Talbot
Jean-Guy Talbot (born
July 11 , 1932 inCap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec ) is a retired Canadianice hockey defenceman.Jean-Guy played in the
National Hockey League from 1955 to1971 . During this time, he played for theMinnesota North Stars ,Detroit Red Wings , St. Louis Blues,Buffalo Sabres andMontreal Canadiens . While with the Montreal Canadians, he won 7Stanley Cup s.Talbot was well known for being a sound passer. He was also known for having a clean but rather physical style of play which ultimately helped the Habs win Stanley Cups. His career lasted a total 1,056 games with a total of five different organizations. He was most successful during his years on the Montreal Canadians where he played with several NHL legends such as Henri Richard and Jean Béliveau. Talbot wore the #17. 13 of his seasons was with the Habs.
He currently lives in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec with his wife of over 50 years. He has two sons Danny and Michel and a daughter Carole, all who reside in the US. He also has 5 grandchildren; Brittany Talbot, Danielle Talbot, Gabrielle Talbot, Rachelle Talbot, and Izabelle Talbot
As coach of the
