Memen

Memen is a fictional character from the Philippine telefantasya "Etheria", which is a prequel/sequel to the highly-rated "Encantadia". Memen is played by Filipino actor Tonton Gutierrez .

Character background

Memen was a member of the Etherian royalty, but was only half-Etherian, one of his parents being a Diwata. He was brother to Barkus, leader of Hera Sensa, and the elemental Evades. He was the husband of Queen Avria of Etheria with whom he had a daughter named Mine-a.

But Memen did not love his wife; instead his true love was Ornia, a Diwata - a race deemed lowly by most Etherians. He ran off with her, an act which caused great shame to the Etherian crown. In fact, Avria became so enraged that she had her husband and his lover hunted down. The queen went as far as to order the slaughter of the Diwatas in a bid to flush Memen and Ornia out of hiding. Memen sired a daughter with Ornia whom they named Cassiopea. This child was destined to be a savior of the Diwata race and would later become the founder and first queen of the kingdom of Lireo.

Memen and his beloved Ornia were killed by his nephew, the Etherian Animus.
