(2001)Let Them Eat Cake is the eighth full-length studio album by the Norwegian rock-band
Motorpsycho . Released early in 2000, the album showed the band taking steps in a new direction, leaning more towardsjazz andpsychedelia than the heavy indierock guitars the band were famous for.The EP "The Other Fool" reached nr. 1 on VGs singles-list.

*Several songs that were recorded at the same time as "L.T.E.C." were put together and released as EP "Barracuda", in 2001. This was done because they didn't fit on the album, due to their more raw, rock 'n roll nature.
*There were two EP releases (w/ videos): "The Other Fool" (edited) and "Walkin' with J.". The latter EP was dedicated to Gebhardt and his songs and was meant as appetizer for his first (and, as of 2006, only) solo album, "Gebhardt plays with himself" (2000).
*"The Other Fool" consists of eight different parts and once was part of a song together with "The Other Other Fool", which was released on "Roadwork Vol. 1". Together, the songs would clock in about 16 minutes.
*"Whip that Ghost" is a half-cover. It has big similarities with "Hot Lanta" byThe Allman Brothers Band and the sub-title, "Song for a Bro'" is meant as dedication. Also, the title echoes the Allman Bros. song "Whipping Post".
*The title "30/30" reminds of 20/20 byThe Beach Boys . Bent Sæther's comment to that: "One would think that 30/30 is better than 20/20-vision, but it's not. It's just more confusing."
*Bent Sæther and Håkon Gebhardt both play drums on four songs each. "30/30" is drumless.
*"Never let you out" is Gebhardt's first lead vocal on a Motorpsycho record.
*Two versions of the cover are in circulation. The first, as shown above is the German/international version released byStickman Records and the other (see [http://coverart.last.fm/300x300/1427992.jpghere] ) is the Norwegian version released by Columbia/Sony Music Norway.
*A song called "Let Them Eat Cake (Deja-Vulture Blues)" appeared on their 2006 release,Black Hole/Blank Canvas .
