January 1 ,2003 , "Het Parool" was part of PCM Uitgevers NV, a publishing company which is the owner of "De Volkskrant ", "NRC Handelsblad ", "Algemeen Dagblad ", and "Trouw ".Its main shareholders today are Stichting Het Parool and the
Belgium basedVlaamse Persgroep , owned by Christian van Thillo. The rest of the shares are owned by its own personnel.The newspaper changed from
broadsheet totabloid onMarch 31 ,2004 . Its daily circulation is about 89,000 copies. Jaap Nunez (born in Amsterdam 20 September 1906), its editor and part founder, was arrested by the Gestapo on 25 October 1942 and sent toAuschwitz concentration camp .
