Cathe Jones

Cathe Jones, (born Catherine Anne Boudreau in 1964) is a published author and former stand-up comedian. Mrs. Jones has also written for The Associated Press, and has presented works at international events including "South by Southwest" in Austin, Texas, at the Royal Shakespeare Academy in London, England, and at Queen's Hyde Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Jones holds the honor of being the only journalist who has had twelve articles on the craft of writing appear in the National Association of Women Writers Newsletter in 2005. Written works

Cathe published a grief book specifically written from and for the Atheist perspective. "Godless Grief [http://www.godlessgrief.com/] ", is a series which discusses not only friends and family, but also loss relating to job, limb, divorce, and other highly sensitive topics. Those who have offered contributions to this book include Dr. Richard Dawkins, James Randi, Margaret Downey, and the Atheist Foundation of Australia. The book project is nominated for several awards in both writing style and for subject matter. Jones also tours the country, and offers workshops on this topic using humor. 5n September 2008, the book is featured a workshop for the Atheist Alliance International annual meeting in Long Beach, California.

"TimeLine [http://www.cathejones.com/timel.html] ", published through Books For Grown Ups [http://www.booksforgrownups.com] , was awarded for its portrayal of child abuse and those who over come it. Another book, "CelebRatties [http://www.cathejones.com/crats.html] ", demonstrates the history of rodents in film, television, literature, and video work from the years 1900 to 2005. Mrs. Jones also published eleven chapbooks, including "DeepNDarkNBlue", which allowed her the opportunity to tour the United States and Canada by invitation, to read passages. The spoken tours lasted from 1985-1990, and led to radio shows syndicated in California, Illinois, New York, and Florida.

As an Ahmanson Scholar, while in California Institute of the Arts, Cathe Jones created the animated film "Revelation/Transition", which received awards from several university film festivals for the sensitive, yet demonstrative work relating to death, and family loss. It was the Boston Herald American that launched Cathe's writing career by allowing her to publish essays and poems while she was still a grade school student.

Quill Keepers

"The Las Vegas Quill Keepers [http://www.lasvegasquillkeepers.com] ", a women's writing group, was founded by Mrs. Jones. The author brings together women who write in several genres to discuss their work, and to help promote the support of women authors in Southern Nevada. The Quill Keepers were recent presenters at the Vegas Valley Book Festival, and the Las Vegas Writer's Conference. Cathe serves as moderator for all Quill Keepers events.

Film, television, and stand-up

As an animal trainer for film and "television with credits ranging from The Best of Animal Planet's Pet Star [http://www.youtube.com/cathej] ", to Penn and Teller's "Bullshit!" series on Showtime, on , and in several music videos. As a stand-up comedian, Mrs. Jones appeared as a regular in the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles for over ten years. Second City's Los Angeles troupe served as home for Cathe's comedy for three years in the early 1990s, until the branch was shut down. She also is chair and emcee for Comed-o-Therapy [http://www.comed-o-therapy.com] , the annual comedy event for The Jimmy Fund, that honors a family member who has battled lung cancer. She also produced and co-hosted the Women of Comedy show in Las Vegas for several years with comedienne Carole Montgomery. Cathe is now a member of the Onyx Theater's Short Bus Comics show appearing both as emcee, and featured performer along with Roman, The Serial Comic, offering an alternative take to the standard stand-up genre..

Family

Cathe Jones currently resides in Las Vegas, with husband Mike Jones, the jazz pianist for Penn and Teller's live nightly show. She was formerly married briefly while in the US Navy, and then again, for several months past her thirtieth birthday to a jazz musician with whom they shared care for his daughter. The marriage ended on a flat note, putting Cathe on her way back towards stand-up stages, and in shows across the country. Her musical history caught the attention of Jones, as she was training rats for the Penn & Teller show, Bullshit. As of 2008, they have been inseparable for five years.
