"The Best of M People" is the first greatest hits album released by M People, in 1998. It features 17 tracks, 10 top ten hits and three new songs. A "limited edition" included a bonus live album which featured eight tracks recorded live at the "Later with Jools Holland" M People special, plus enhanced content.

There was also an advanced sampler called "Classic" available and also a promo containing the same content as the bonus live enhanced CD but with more sound excerpts and full videos.
