G. C. Peden

George C. Peden is an economic historian from Scotland. He is most well known for his work on the British Treasury, and for his various books dealing with British economic policy during the 20th century. His latest work plans to deal with military spending and policy from the Dreadnought battleships until the Polaris nuclear submarines.

When not writing, George Peden works at Stirling University, where he is known for emphasising good grammar and correct expression to his students. His works has been translated into various languages, including Japanese. In Japan, his work is often used to draw parallels between the British economy and the Japanese economy; issues such as inflation, aging populations and geographic isolation are often the salient parallels drawn.
