Irene Astor, Baroness Astor of Hever

Irene Astor, Baroness Astor of Hever (7 October 1919-2001) was the widow of Gavin Astor, 2nd Baron Astor of Hever.

She was born as Lady Irene Violet Freesia Janet Augusta Haig in 1919. She was the daughter of Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, 1st Earl Haig and The Honourable Dorothy Maud Vivian. She became styled as Baroness Astor of Hever, upon the death of her father-in-law on 19 July 1971.

* She married the Honourable Gavin Astor on 4 October 1945. They had five children:
** 1) John Jacob Astor, 3rd Baron Astor of Hever (born 16 June 1946)
** 2) The Honourable Bridget Mary Astor (born 16 February 1948)
** 3) The Honourable Elizabeth Louise Astor (born 1 March 1951)
** 4) The Honourable Sarah Violet Astor (born 30 September 1953)
** 5) The Honourable Philip Douglas Paul Astor (born 4 April 1959)
