Fogarty currently drives the No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance Daytona Prototype forGAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing in theGrand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. He won his first Grand-Am race, the2007 Mexico City 400k , inMarch 2007 . He and co-driverAlex Gurney captured the 2007 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype drivers' championship.Fogarty competed in the
Barber Dodge Pro Series from 1996 until 2000, finishing series runner-up twice. Following a year where he was injured inIndy Lights in 2001, he moved intoToyota Atlantic in 2002 and edgedMichael Valiante for the series championship. He was unsuccessful in a bid to find aChamp Car ride for 2003 and came back to foster rookieDanica Patrick 's growth the last two races, whereupon she scored her best result of 2nd inMiami while he posted a pair of 4ths.In 2004 he returned to full-time Atlantic competition and won another title, this time beating
Ryan Dalziel . After an unsuccessful search for a Champ Car ride, Fogarty moved intosports car racing, driving aPorsche 911 in the GT class of theAmerican Le Mans Series . In April, 2006, Fogarty moved to the Grand-Am series, driving the No. 99 GAINSCO Auto Insurance Pontiac Riley withAlex Gurney .
