Berkhout (coord|52|38|N|5|0|E|type:city(956)) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wester-Koggenland, and lies about 5 km west of Hoorn.

In 1979, the former municipality of Berkhout merged into the new municipality of Wester-Koggenland, with a part of the municipality going to Wognum.

In 2001, the town of Berkhout had 956 inhabitants.
