Lang'ata is a suburb of
Nairobi inKenya , lying south west of the city centre and east of Karen. The suburb consists of many smaller housing estates, referred to simply as estates, including Nairobi Dam estate, Southlands, Jambo estate etc.These estates are primarily maisonettes or apartment blocks. Langata Constituency , which covers affluent estates Karen and Lang'ata, but numerically most its voters come fromKibera , the largest slum in Kenya. The MP of Lang'ata isRaila Odinga , a powerful politician in Kenya.The coined term "Karengata" is used refer to either Karen or Lang'ata.
