As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,153 people, 385 households, and 329 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 32.3 people per square mile (12.5/km²). There were 404 housing units at an average density of 11.3/sq mi (4.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.27% White, 0.26% Native American, 0.09% Asian, and 1.39% from two or more races. 1.04% of the population wereHispanic orLatino of any race.There were 385 households out of which 37.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.5% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.5% were non-families. 12.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.98 and the average family size was 3.19.
