York Region Transit (YRT) terminal on Ian Macdonald Boulevard near York Boulevard in York Commons, within the main Keele Campus ofYork University inToronto ,Canada .On the Viva system, despite the fact that this terminal is geographically south of
York Region , it is treated as if it were in York Region. Therefore, passengers can alight from a northbound RTV coming from Keele-Finch and Downsview Station Vivastations, and passengers can board a southbound RTV from this terminal. This policy is intended to allow transfers betweenViva Orange andViva Purple . TheToronto Transit Commission had expressed concern about this policy, as York University students have discovered they can board an emptyViva Orange bus instead of the 196 York University Rocket, which often runs over capacity. They came to a mutual decision that since the rider would have already paid TTC fare to get to Downsview Station, the TTC is not in a position to lose ridership fares. When the Spadina subway line is extended to
York University ,Steeles Avenue andVaughan Corporate Centre , theViva Orange line will be combined with theViva Purple line to provide full service across the line.
