St. Joseph's Senior Secondary School, Kanpur

St. Joseph's Senior Secondary School is a secondary school in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The school is situated near the banks of the river Ganga and near the bridge [NH25] connecting Kanpur and Lucknow. The school started in 1965. At the start, there were only few sections catering to the primary level students. This school is managed by nuns. Over the years, the school expanded and grew. There are currently 12 grades and two sections at the kindergarten level. Each grade has three sections with 40-60 students on an average. The school follows the CBSE education system which is followed by most schools in North India.

In the early eighties, the school undertook a massive expansion including construction of two new wings with additional classrooms and rooms for other activities.

The school has had very good physics, chemistry and biology labs. The sports and games department was continuously strong with the school always competing in various inter-school events. The school also has dedicated sports teacher/coaches for various sports including cricket, basketball, football and field hockey.

Most of the students are based from the local community including Lal Bangla, JK Colony, Jajmau, Defence colony, HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) Township, and Indian Air Force families.

The School is situated in Defence Colony, Jajmau, Kanpur.
