"Used to Love Her" is a song by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. Its lyrics are about a man murdering a woman and burying her in his backyard. Axl then goes on to say that they are "happier this way."

Axl said that song made fun of songs, about men who are treated badly by women.

It was also said that the song is about Axl Rose's dog who he had to put to sleep.

This song was not a hit song on the charts, but today receives substantial radio play.

Lead singer Axl Rose has said its nothing more than a joke song not to be taken seriously. In fact, on the cover of the LP, the blurb under the headline "Used to Love Her" says that it's "a joke, nothing more."

There have been several covers of the song, most notably the Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine lounge style version featured on his 2002 album "Tuxicity". The ska band Voodoo Glow Skulls covered the song on their 2004 album Adicción, Tradición, Revolución, and associated Hard rock act Velvet Revolver also performed the song live, in 2007. The grunge band L7 also performed a cover slightly altering the lyrics to "Used To Love Him".
