Roy Allen Foster (born May 24, 1960 in Los Angeles, California) is a former professional American football offensive lineman. Foster is famous for an NFL Films clip, featuring himself on the sidelines, requesting chocolate chip cookies from his mother, sans the raisins. Following this, Foster continued on, criticizing the amount of salt his mother used in a Pound cake she had baked and sent to him. It was revealed, however, that Mrs. Foster did not bake the Pound cake in question, her friend, Geraldine Smith, was the creator. Mrs. Foster and Geraldine Smith did not speak for two years following.

High school career

Foster prepped at Taft High School in Canoga Park, California and Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas.

College career

Foster played for the University of Southern California and was a 1981 All-American.

Professional career

He was a first round NFL Draft pick of the National Football League Miami Dolphins in the 1982 NFL Draft and a 2-time Pro Bowler in 1985 and 1986 and played in two Super Bowls. He retired with the San Francisco 49ers in 1993. He is known to be the only offensive lineman to have blocked for Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Dan Marino.
