- Sierra Madrona
Sierra Madrona is a
mountain range located in cordillera Mariánica, inside ofCiudad Real province in the region ofCastile-La Mancha , and near by Córdoba and Jaen provincial limits, inSpain . Being delimited by the Robledillo river valley and "Sierra de la Solana" and "Humbria de Alcudia" in the North, the Montoro river valley in the East, by the smooth hills ofAndújar , theSierra Morena , "Sierra Quiteria", andLos Pedroches in the South, and by the Yeguas river passage in the West. It contains the highest point of the Marianica range, "Bañuelas peak", 1,324 m; "Corral de Borros" peak, 1,312 m and "Rebollera" peak, 1,161 m.The range is named after the "madroño" or "madroña" (
Strawberry Tree "Arbutus unedo") which is abundant in the area.External links
