May 17 1954 , it was the first TV station in Chihuahua state, the first Spanish channel in Juarez, El Paso and Las Cruces, and the 3rd TV station outside of Mexico city.From XEJ, many talented local people were projected, who became legends of Mexican golden era cinema and music: Tin Tan,
Lorenzo de Monteclaro ,Charro Avitia , and Alberto Aguilera AKA Adan Luna and/orJuan Gabriel .Mr. Meneses produced in the early days of television, entertaining programs such "El barco de la illusion", "Doctora Corazon", "Noches Rancheras", "La hora del aficcionado", "Papa Quinito", "
Niko Liko " (the clown) and others.presently, XEJ still broadcasting from its original studios, at Vicente Guerrero and Constitucion streets; it broadcasts Mexico city's Galavision signal, from 12PM to 11PM and still produces its own newscast (Noticinco).
Rafael Fitzmaurice Meneses, Grandson of its founder, Pedro Meneses, is now it's General Director.
