Robinson Bours family

Robinson Bours is a family of the Mexican state of Sonora. They are descendants of Americans of English (Robinson) and French descent (Bours).

Robinson

* Captain Thomas Robinson, officer of the United States Navy who commanded the USS Adams
* John Alfred Robinson Warne (aka "Juan Alfredo" 1808–1889), son of Thomas, he and his nephew Thomas immigrated to Mexico, died in Guaymas
* Mary Walker Robinson Warne (1794–1859) of New York City, sister of John Alfred. She was adopted by her aunt (also Mary Robinson) and her husband Benjamin Walker, a colonel in the American Revolutionary War. Benjamin Walker served for General von Steuben and George Washington as an interpreter.

Bours

* John Bours (1734–1815) from Newport, Rhode Island, father of Peter. He was a descendant of Robert Washington (1544–1620, forefather of George Washington)
* W. Peter Bours Babcock (1782–1860) of Newport, Rhode Island, husband of Mary

Robinson Bours

* Thomas Robinson Bours (1815–1889) of New York City, a businessman son of Mary Robinson and Peter Bours, moved to California, and then to Mexico invited by his uncle John Alfred, he settled in Álamos
** Tomás Robinson Bours Goyeneche (1858–1933) of Álamos, son of Thomas
