Villiers Park

Villiers Park

Villiers Park Educational Trust is an educational charity with a residential training centre in Foxton, close to Cambridge in the United Kingdom. It provides inspirational educational activities covering a wide variety of topics for both teachers and young people, and has a close relationship with the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. It particularly aims to use its expertise in gifted and talented education to inspire teachers and post-16 students towards better teaching and learning.

Origins

The charity was founded by Major the Hon. Arthur Villiers, younger son of the 7th Earl of Jersey (and a descendant of the Duke of Buckingham ). Today the trust's main buildings at the Cambridge site - Cadogan House, Wellesley House and Wagg House - are named for colleagues of Villiers (and contemporaries of his at Eton College) who were also involved in the establishment of the trust. The charity originally ran the Eton Manor Boys Club in the East End of London and was known as The Manor Chritable Trust.
