Antonio Gramsci Battalion

During World War II, following the surrender of Italy to the Allies in September 1943, some parts of the Italian army of occupation in Albania formed themselves into the Antonio Gramsci Battalion and operated thereafter alongside the partisans of the Albanian resistance movement.
