Jean-Jacques Aillagon (born
October 2 ,1946 ,Metz ) is a French politician, a close confidant ofJacques Chirac and member of theUMP political party. From 1972-1976 he was a high school teacher in theCorrèze region of France. From 1982-2002 he was an administrator and eventually Chairman of theCentre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He became Minister of Culture and Communication inJean-Pierre Raffarin 's national government from 2002-2004. In 2005 he was elected CEO of the worldwide satellite television stationTV5MONDE .By the decree of 6 June 2007, he was appointed President of the
Château de Versailles (Etablissement public du musée et du domaine national de Versailles) (Journal Officiel n°01310 dated 07/06/2007).He is also a member of The Conseil Économique et Social (Economic and Social Council), France's third most important constitutional assembly.
